Emergency Notifications: CodeRED
The Town of Gulf Stream is pleased to announce the launch of our new CodeRED community notification system, which sends important alerts and time-sensitive messages to residents and staff members. CodeRED is considerably more flexible and detailed than the Town’s current e-mail emergency notification system, which it will soon replace. Using CodeRED, any emergency alert or update will be sent out via phone, text, and email. Alert notifications include boil water notices, gas leaks, evacuation notices, storm clean-up activity, open or closed street alerts, police activity, fire emergencies and missing persons.
CodeRED is free of charge to our residents and any information you provide is exempt from public records law and will not be released in response to a public records request. To participate, simply sign up on the enrollment website and select your preferred method or methods of communication. You can register here.
Registration for this notification service is customized, allowing residents to choose which alerts they would like to sign up for and their preferred manner of receipt. Residents can select several different methods including landline, cell phone, email, text message, TTY, or even a combination.
Additionally, residents can keep track of Gulf Stream alerts with the CodeRED Mobile App, which notifies smartphone holders of real-time alerts in the area. Similar to the online registration, users choose which notifications they would like to receive via the app. The app is a free download on the App Store and Google Play. Residents who have enrolled in the CodeRED system will continue to receive their registered voice calls, text messages and email, but with the Mobile App, residents will remain directly informed of alerts even when traveling.
If you have any questions about CodeRED, or if you experience any difficulty registering for it, please contact Town Hall by telephone: 561-276-5116.
